Coffee and TV- Blur

The final music video i analysed was the music video Coffee and Tea by Blur. the video is very cleverly made and enjoyable to watch. The main part is a dancing milk bottle throughout, this being amusing for young children and different in comparison to previous music videos made, making it unique. Its fun to watch and entertaining and i really like it the video matches the song perfectly and works really well together.
I rate this video 9/10

Basement Jaxx- Wheres your head at

Another music video is from Basement Jaxx called 'Wheres your head at'. This video is very weird in my opinion and is very different to a lot of other music video. Its different and amusing for the audience of all ages giving a variety in which it appeals to and also the success of the song itself. The song is very weird, but clever the way it has been put together. The video is very successfully made.
Rating- 6/10

Eminem- Stan

The next video is from Eminem with his song Stan. Eminem's style of rapping is to rap lyrics that make sense and always tell a story that link to the video. This video is a very sad, subdued feel, the lilting is very dull and grey colours. The songs Eminem produces are all narrative, Stan too has a narrative and tells a story. The song is very good and is very successful as everything goes well together, most importantly the song is very good, therefore this is what i believe should be the best because it wouldn't appeal to people if it isn't.
Rating- 7/10

Journal- Music vids

Today, i researched a variety of music videos to see how they were made, the different ways in which they were produced and any effects that were used. I found that researching was very good to do because it showed the varst range of videos, from watching one of each genre it gave me a rougf idea of how music videos should be made for the each of the different genres.

Madonna- Vogue

The next video was Madonna's Vogue. This video being very different in comparison to the previous because it is of a different music genre and also a female singer Madonna is a very famous singer worldwide and brought various songs out, still today. the video is black and white framed and is lit in certain parts, this is to show only certain parts they want you to see. The video also tells a story of a famous woman in history, Madonna being the representation of the famous woman Marilyn Monroe. With this representation the music video creates intertextual reference and to sum up the video, i believe it was very beautifully lit, classy look and is a well rounded piece.

Research of Different Music Videos

For our first task, we have to research the different variety of music videos. our first music video was Tenacious D tribute- Jack Black. The song lyrics first of all tell a story, this reflects in the video and the story is shown this is good because the whole overall product is linked together to give understanding to the audience. The characters in the film where the song has come from are also playing and singing the song giving more links to the audience to give more understanding. The music video is very funny and enjoyable to watch in my opinion because it is very random in some parts, but this is what makes the amusing aspects happen. the group singing are also known as rock band, therefore with their humour through lyrics and their video they are also mocking the rock conventions, due to their humorous lyrics and video, the frequent changing of pace of their song and their characters generally who portray themselves as rockstars.
I rate the Music Video a 7/10

Michael Buble- Record label

Michael Buble had his first and second albums produced by 143/Reprise records, a US sub label of Warner Bros. Here is a promo of his first album 'It's time'. The style and genre of Michael is unique with his Jazz, Soul, Big Band vocals.

Michael Buble- Case Study

Michael Buble was born in Canada on the 9th September 1975, in 2005 he had his first album released called 'Its Time' which was very successful. Soon in 2007 following up with his second album, 'Call me irresponsible' that had even greater success by reaching the number one spot in the Canadian Charts, U.S Billboard top 100, Australian chart and European Charts, thus creating global success and selling 25 million albums worldwide. Michael has become a global superstar over the last 5 years due to his music and has became a well-known recording artist to date. I guess i enjoy his music because if its not his own song, he can still sing a cover of another artists song and make it his own, if not better than the original. Both studio albums were produced by 143/ Reprise records, a label from Warner Bros. Records in the U.S.A.
